The History

The " Cultura e Musica " Association started his activity in 1984 at Barletta.
We organized till now more than 600 Concerts with world-wide reputed Solists, Ensembles and Orchestrs who were in Concert Seasons we realized until today.

Since 1990 the Association organize in Barletta the Competition for Young Musicians " Città di Barletta " that take place every year during the first two weeks of May and every year it has an attendance of 400 musicians coming from all over the World.

Since 1997 takes place, during the second week of may , the International Piano Competition " Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize " that is dedicated to the young great pianist who died before his time in 1996.

Since 1990 the Association organize International Courses of Music Interpretation into the Advanced Music Academy " G. Curci " with Master Classes and Annual and Biennial Courses.

The pianist Francesco Monopoli is the Artistic Director of the Association, since 1984.

During the 2010 we will organize:

The 13th International Piano Competition"Mauro Paolo Monopoli" Prize
from 3rd to 9th May 2010

The 20th International Competition for Young Musicians " Città di Barletta "
Young Soloist ( strings and singers ) and Chamber Music Prize from 22nd to 24th April
Young Pianist from April 26th to April 30rd 2010

The 26th Concert Season
( 20 concerts from January to December 2010).

International Courses of Music Interpretation - 20th Edition

Other Activities

The Association has a Music School, the 'Curci Music School',
and organize even a National Competition for Young Musician
the "Premio Musica Italia" 
and several Lesson Concerts in Italian Secondary Schools.
