The 13th Edition of the International Piano Competition "Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize"
will take place from 3rd to 9th May 2010.


The 13th International Piano Competition "Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize" will take place from 3rd to 9th May 2010 in the wonderful Curci Theatre in Barletta.

For the 2010 Edition it will be assigned Prizes for about 13.000 Euros, many and prestigious Special Prizes and Prize Concerts (recitals and Concertos ) in Italy and abroad.

The Competition is opened to the pianists born after 1st January 1974 and before 1st January 1994 and it will have a duratiorn of 7 days.

The deadline for the application forms is 7th April 2010.

The President of the 2010 Jury will be the wellknown Maestro Andrzej Jasinski with famous musicians coming from all the world.

The Competition will have 4 stages; the Final will have the collaboration of the Orchestra 'EurOrchestra' from Bari conducted by m° Francesco Lentini.

The Winners of the previous Editions of the MPM IPC are successful artists all over the world, like Oliver Kern (Germany), Roberto Corliaṇ (Italy), Tchen Tzu-Yi (Taiwan), Kimberly Chen (U.S.A.), Anna Vinnitskaja (Russia), Yusuke Kikuchi (Japan), Vadim Ageev (Russia),Stanislav Khristenko (Russia) e Yumi Sato (Japan).

The MPM IPC try to increase the piano culture all around the world, giving a chance to the young pianists for comparing their musical thinking and for starting a professional musician career.

The Competition realize the special wish of the recently disappeared Maestro Carlo Maria Giulini, Honorary Chairperson of the Competition, to all the participants:
"Wishing the Young Generations will be at the service of the Music and can present, through the Sound, what the Great Composers created for enrich the Spiritual Life of the Human Beings".

The words of the maestro Giulini give a clear idea for which kind of musician the Competition is looking for and what the pianists must try to give in their performance.
